For the exhibition 'Numerical Existence', I developed the artwork Artist's Speech, that scans galleries and museum websites, collects data, and prints the most recurring words using a dot matrix printer. I used Python and Natural Language Kit (NLTK) for lexical analysis. The work aims to point at possibilities of how vocabulary used by artists and art institutions helps to shape the perception of the art world. At the installation, the words fill the gallery so the visitor has a poetic data-driven experience of immersion.
